Registered Nurse (RN) Free Standing Emergency Room

About the role

The Registered Nurse for the Freestanding Emergency Department at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is responsible for performing competent nursing care using the nursing process. The position requires 2 years of Emergency Room experience and critical care experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Maintains standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and quality.
• Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments.
• Communicates effectively with patients and providers.

Requirements

• Registered nursing license required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required prior to orientation.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Full-time nurses have 16 hours of required call per 6 weeks.
• Part-time nurses have 12 hours of required call per 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Pay

Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
