About the Role

11T is a 24-bed inpatient Ortho Joint Surgical unit in the Garden Tower at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. The team provides care to post-operative orthopedic surgical patients, including:

  • Joint replacement (knee, hip, shoulder)
  • ENT (ear, nose, and throat)
  • Artificial airways
  • Spinal (non-neuro procedures)

Growth and development are promoted through certifications in Ortho, Med-Surg, Pain, Palliative Care, and Geriatrics. Shared Governance opportunities include ACC, ADVANCE, NSI champion groups, and support for professional development at local and national levels.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, and compassionate communication
  • Lead efforts to create a safe patient environment and enhance the patient experience

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • 1+ years of RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts (0700–1930)
  • 6-week self-scheduling system
  • Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation
