About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area, and newly expanded Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring awareness of ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Maintain a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience, assuming responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others on the patient care team through communication and utilization of available resources.
• Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (e.g., damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
• Understand the patient population served.
• Supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
• Consistently set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualize the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
• Act as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager.

Requirements

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• BLS and ACLS Certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Preferred Qualifications

• Med./Surg. Telemetry and/or ER nursing experience
• CEN Certifications

Schedule

• Evening Shift, 37.5 hours per week
• Flexible start times: 11a–11:30p, 1p–1:30a, and 3p–3:30a
• Monday – Friday, every other weekend, and holiday rotation

Pay

$47.62 - $63.73 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
