Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy

About the role

Meadowview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. The Endoscopy Unit includes two state-of-the-art endoscopy suites staffed by two experienced gastroenterologists (GI physicians), performing an average of 15 procedures per day.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Requirements

• A current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
• An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Skills

Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Proficiency in computer systems and software is also required.
