Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy

Full-time position, benefits eligible, 40 hours per week.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 4 × 10-hour shifts (07:30–18:00)
• No weekends or holidays

Pay

Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Uphold and promote a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
• Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications.
• Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practice ethical decision-making; respect interdisciplinary roles and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care.
• Delegate appropriately to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (e.g., nurse aides, credentialed medical assistants).
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served; interpret data reflective of patient status and identify age-specific needs.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., email, electronic records, digital platforms).

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, reaching above shoulders, and twisting throughout the workday.
• Lift and support up to 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch; fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• Potential exposure to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

About the Unit

The Endoscopy Unit is a comprehensive, all-inclusive care environment providing pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery services for both inpatient and outpatient populations. The department cares for an average of 60 patients daily and performs a broad range of procedures, including General GI, Interventional GI, Pulmonary, and Neuromuscular services. The unit operates Monday through Friday and is dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across the continuum of the procedural experience.
