About the role

This position is located at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA. The Registered Nurse – Emergency Department RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience in a 14-bed unit that cares for patients from infants to geriatrics, specializing in Cardiology and Stroke care.

The RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan, and performing complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs function as part of the Care Team and Support Team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and develop, evaluate, and modify care plans under limited supervision.
  • Perform complex patient-care procedures specific to expertise in the Emergency Department.
  • Function as a professional caregiver, assuming responsibility and accountability for patient care within a designated time frame.
  • Provide care via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, environment/technology, and collaboration with other healthcare team members.
  • Interpret and implement care according to established standards.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found substantially equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
  • Prior experience preferred; new graduates considered.
