Position Overview: The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and individualized patient care. They demonstrate critical thinking, respond promptly to clinical changes, and involve patients and families in care planning. The role includes supporting quality improvement initiatives, ensuring safety protocols, and collaborating with physicians for seamless patient care across the continuum. The nurse may float to other areas as needed and participate in trauma program development, EHR training, and emergency preparedness drills. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care and support departmental operations during assigned shifts.Complete accurate documentation and participate in quality and safety initiatives.Act as a Unit Charge Nurse, overseeing care coordination and investigating incidents or concerns.Assist with patient education, team training, and professional development.Participate in emergency preparedness, trauma programs, and facility drills.Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications & Skills Current RN license in the practice state.1-3 years of experience in emergency, hospital, ICU, or acute care settings.Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.Ability to respond swiftly to clinical changes and utilize best practice protocols.Commitment to confidentiality, safety standards, and professional growth.
