About the Role
Provides specialized nursing care for dialysis patients, including maintenance and home dialysis training. Collaborates with healthcare teams, ensures compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, and maintains accurate documentation. Acts as a patient and family advocate, developing and implementing educational plans related to dialysis procedures and self-care. Performs technical skills related to water room equipment and oversees staff delegation. Upholds organizational values of compassion, communication, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform dialysis treatments and monitor equipment
- Coordinate patient care and provide education on dialysis procedures and self-care
- Document care accurately and ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Support patient self-care and training programs
- Act as a liaison among patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Promote a safe, compassionate environment for patients and staff
- Maintain water room equipment and oversee staff delegation
Requirements
- Active RN license in the practice state
- Preferred certifications: Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, or general dialysis nursing credentials
- Prior dialysis or critical care experience is advantageous
- Specific experience requirements for home dialysis training roles
- Visual acuity and hearing ability sufficient to perform position duties
