Registered Nurse RN Coordinator
Lead Daily Unit Operations
Coordinate, plan, and direct the daily functioning and staffing needs of the unit or department under the guidance and direction of the director. Determine and direct staffing needs of unit/department on a shift-to-shift basis. Facilitate staff to patient ratios in a fiscally responsible manner under the direction of the director.
Support Leadership
Provide guidance and role modeling to staff, fostering development, teamwork, and accountability. Serve as a key liaison across disciplines to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
Resource Utilization and Process Improvement
Support resource utilization, policy compliance, and process improvement to drive positive patient outcomes and efficient operations.
Schedule and On-Call Requirements
Schedule: 7AM to 530PM working 4/10s varied weekdays at BUMC Tucson. On-call is required for this role.
Coordination and Communication
Cooperate with supervisor on any unusual situations. Assist with unit education and enforce unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care. Facilitate interdepartmental teamwork. Assist in the oversight of resource utilization for the department, including human, financial, equipment, supply resources.
Evaluation and Compliance
Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
Supervision and Workflow Management
Coordinates daily workflow for unit. Participates in evaluation process by giving input.
Qualifications
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- BLS certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
