About the role

The Clinical Operations Resource RN assists the Manager of Staffing Effectiveness in providing administrative and clinical leadership on all shifts. This role involves assisting with planning, coordinating, and managing personnel and resources to provide the highest quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees operational efficiency and utilization of labor resources of the assigned shift in collaboration with unit-based charge nurses to ensure HPPD and LCE targets are met
  • Participates in daily safety and capacity huddles
  • Makes staffing recommendations and assignments at identified levels of competency as determined by state law, hospital policy, and regulatory agencies for the provision of safe and high-quality patient care
  • Solicits feedback on customer needs by performing ongoing assessments and rounding and shares findings offering suggestions for improvement
  • Works with teams to develop, implement and track results of quality improvement activities contributing to overall quality of care, KRA goals and regulatory requirements
  • Understands departmental productivity measures and uses monitoring, data reports, technology and assessment tools to assess the effectiveness of work hour and labor cost efficiency
  • Gathers, records, and responds to staffing needs according to fluctuations in staffing and census updating AdvocateWorks schedule as needed
  • Provides correspondence with outside agencies for the management of agency resources as needed
  • Addresses problems and conflicts, which arise between patients, families and health care providers
  • Responds to patient and family needs in times of stress or crisis
  • Ensures compliance to all regulatory/safety standards to provide optimal environment for the customer
  • Responds to and resolve patient, customer, and associate complaints in a timely fashion
  • Solicits feedback on customer needs by performing ongoing assessments/interviews of internal and external customers
  • Reviews customer satisfaction survey results; set targets for improvement and implement appropriate action plans
  • Holds associates accountable for customer service standards
  • Works with teams to develop, implement and track results of quality improvement activities contributing to overall quality of care

Qualifications

  • BSN required
  • At least four years’ inpatient/acute care nursing experience
  • Previous charge nurse or leadership experience
