Registered Nurse (RN) - Child Behavioral Health Unit
The MH Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
About the role
The Child Psychiatric Unit at Spring Harbor Hospital specializes in the care of children. We offer a 12-bed unit designed for the care of children, generally ages from 6-12 years old and as young as 4, who require acute mental health treatment. Typically, these patients are imminent risk to themselves or others, or are unable to function at a lower level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms. Our multidisciplinary patient care team specializes in the treatment of diagnoses most commonly found in children and adolescents.
Responsibilities
- Provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
- One year of recent RN experience required.
Qualifications
- Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New Grad Residency (where available).
Skills
- Competent in clinical role and able to care for most patients assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to obtain necessary resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time.

Pay
This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to RN candidates with greater than 1 year of experience. For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to a $20,000 sign-on for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!
