About the Department

The department offers a comprehensive 6-month orientation (3 months Cath, 3 months EP), emphasizing procedural training and teamwork. Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process
• Apply standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care - teaching and health promotion, and evaluation)
• Apply standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health)
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas
• Manage complex cases in fast-paced environments
• Provide intra-procedural patient care/monitoring and moderate sedation

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Registered Nursing License (Required)
• ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Critical care experience in hospital required
• Preferred: 1-2 years Cath/EP Lab experience
• Ideal candidates will have experience in Cardiac Cath, ICU, CCU, or cardiac step-down units and thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered setting
