About the Role

Responsible for providing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by professional groups and regulating bodies. Nursing care is delivered following ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care.

Includes the provision and coordination of nursing care: collecting and analyzing assessment data, identifying expected outcomes, developing a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team, implementing interventions, evaluating progress, and documenting the process. Care is tailored to the age-specific and unique needs of the patient/family.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the healthcare team, collaborates with team members to meet patient/family needs throughout the episode of care, and delegates tasks as appropriate under the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Pay

Staff Nurse II pay range: $38.40–$52.80 per hour. Final compensation will be based on career ladder placement.

Schedule

  • 1.00 FTE; Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts.
  • On-call expected minimum one night per week (Monday–Friday) and minimum one weekend (Saturday–Sunday) per 6-week schedule.
  • Orientation customized to the individual needs of experienced OR nurses.
