Registered Nurse (RN), Cardiac Cath Lab

About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Cardiac Catheterization Department at the New Brunswick campus. This is a position for the Cardiac Cath Lab Procedural RN: Day shift 6am-6:30 pm, 36 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Affirms awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
• Affirms safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, ie, damaged floors-walls-ceiling tiles-unsecured areas and medical errors
• Knowledge of the patient population served
• Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers, ensuring follow up
• Consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement
• Individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs

Requirements/Qualifications

• Active, valid NJ Registered Nurse license required
• BSN preferred
• Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association AHA required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS through the American Heart Association AHA required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS through the American Heart Association AHA required
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience or recent within the last 5 years critical care experience required
• Recent within the last 5 years procedural and/or ICU experience required, Procedural experience strongly preferred
• On Call hours required and rotated
