Pay

$40.60 to $60.89 per hour. Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and 3/4 point of the range, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • NRP certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of the health status of a patient through the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data used to establish a health status baseline and plan of care, addressing changes in the patient condition.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
  • Develop nursing interventions to be integrated into the plan of care.
  • Implement nursing care through the execution of independent nursing actions.
  • Implement interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Delegate nursing tasks or assign nursing activities to implement the plan of care.
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care.
  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Advocate for the best interests of individual patients.
  • Evaluate responses to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of care.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other healthcare professionals in the management and implementation of care within and across care settings and communities.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, care coordination, and case finding.
  • Design and implement teaching plans based on patient need and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in the development of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Be accountable for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; address situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and perform at the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected if an individual has completed an approved professional nursing education program.
  • Manage, supervise, and evaluate the practice of nursing.
  • Maintain OMC organization competencies and nursing competencies pertinent to area of practice.
  • Manage information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively.
