Responsibilities

  • Utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
  • Implements clinical nursing interventions
  • Develops and performs patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
  • Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Provides direct patient care according to the provider’s prescribed plan of care (and nursing scope of practice)
  • Closely monitors progress/recovery
  • Absess and documents the patient’s conditions and report changes as needed
  • Administers medication, insulin, and IV/fluids, documenting thoroughly
  • Inspects and cares for wounds, changing dressings and assists with personal hygiene
  • Applies effective interviewing skills to elicit information from patient and/or family/significant other that is necessary to plan and implement the treatment plan
  • Assesses patient for further injuries, infections, bedsores, etc. and delivers appropriate treatments
  • Collaborates with providers, aides, and allied health professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Current state licensure (or covered compact licensure) as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support acceptable in lieu of BLS)
  • One (1) year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Recent Behavioral Health experience (preferred, not required)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)

Skills

  • Effective interviewing skills
  • Ability to assess patient conditions and report changes
  • Knowledge of wound care and personal hygiene
  • Experience with medication administration and IV/fluid management
  • Collaborative and teamwork skills
