Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessments and monitor patients’ physical and behavioral health.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility policies.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient behavior or condition.
  • Participate in treatment planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Provide patient education, emotional support, and crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Follow all safety, confidentiality, infection-control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program that meets Nevada Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Current Nevada RN license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience is preferred but not required.
  • New graduate nurses are welcome if they demonstrate a genuine interest in psychiatric nursing.
  • Nurses transitioning from another specialty should be able to clearly explain their interest in behavioral health.

Skills

  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional presentation and a genuine interest in the facility and patient population.
  • A stable employment history is preferred.
  • Dependable, collaborative, and committed to compassionate patient care.

Pay

$36–$40 per hour
