About the role

Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients’ and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion and restraint of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients
  • Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms
  • Help to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results
  • Operate medical machinery
  • Administer treatment and medications
  • Help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation
  • Teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy
  • Other related duties

Requirements

  • Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
  • Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
  • Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Training: None specified

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong clinical judgment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of mental health and behavioral health care

Pay

The current compensation range for this role is $43.28 to $71.14. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
