About the Role
This position supports the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence in a behavioral health setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and plan care within set timeframes, documenting findings according to policies.
- Oversee and supervise the shift, including delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, and meal supervision.
- Ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by the team.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician when necessary.
- Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
- Interact with patients using empathy, dignity, and respect.
- Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment plan goals are executed following hospital policies and demonstrated nursing competencies.
- Assist in performing comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
- Current RN license as required by state regulations.
- CPR and De-escalation certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
- Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
