Registered Nurse (RN) - Athens Medical Group

This is a part-time opportunity, 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and updates patient records as required by physician(s)/practitioner(s) using electronic medical records (EHR) system.
• Contacts patients regarding test results or other related reasons as directed.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares patients for examinations and procedures according to physician preferences, including recording vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, etc.).
• Performs appropriate procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and Holter monitor application, and assists physicians and/or providers with other procedures as appropriate.
• Administers medications and conducts patient education as required.
• Maintains stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
• Handles phone nursing when appropriate, including triaging, pre-certs, referrals, calling in prescriptions, etc.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures (including the corporate compliance program) and follows state and federal regulations, such as OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Adheres to site-specific protocols and expectations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational or college credits preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office setting.
• Required competency using EHR and Microsoft Outlook.
• Current State of Tennessee Registered Nurse License.
