Responsibilities

• Ensure hospice patients are comfortable
• Forge compassionate, meaningful connections with patients and their families
• Maintain trust with patients and families by guiding them through the end-of-life journey
• Make care decisions at the bedside to bring comfort to patients
• Help patients and families understand and embrace the palliative nature of hospice and comfort-focused care

Requirements

• Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located
• A minimum of two years of nursing experience in hospice, home health, or community health in the last five years
• Equivalent experience or licensure may be considered

Qualifications

• RN license
• At least two years of nursing experience
• Reliable transportation

$35 - $36 / Hour

Schedule

Most VITAS nurses make 4-6 visits each day. Once a week, you’ll visit the local program office to meet with an interdisciplinary team.
