About the role
VitalCore Health Strategies, an industry leader in correctional health care, is seeking Registered Nurses at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, DE. Positions are available for full-time day and night shifts, as well as part-time PRN (per diem) schedules.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions and side effects.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' condition.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Assist with examinations and treatments.
- Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on health topics and develop health improvement programs.
- Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure stock of supplies is maintained.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
- Possesses an active CPR certification.
- Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.

Pay
- 3p-11pm: $4.25
- 11p-730a: $4.50
- Day: $6.00
- Evening: $5.75
- Nights: $3.50
Schedule
- 12 Hour Shifts
- Full-Time/Part-Time (must be available for at least 3-6 weeks for onsite training)
- Day Shift (must be available for at least 3-6 weeks for onsite training)
- Full-Time Night Shift (must be available for at least 3-6 weeks for onsite training)
- Rotating Weekends (PRN staff required to work 2 shifts per month)
Shift Differential
- Weekday (Mon-Fri): $4.25
- Weekend (Sat/Sun): $5.75
