Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services is a robust, free-standing psychiatric hospital offering dedicated services to adolescents and adults from the surrounding Birmingham community. With an average census of 150 patients, Hill Crest features acute inpatient, residential, and group home settings. We do not treat medically compromised individuals beyond our scope of care. We currently treat: Acute Adults, Acute Adolescents, Forensic Adult Males, Residential Males and Females.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent care, comfort, and security to patients and families at their most vulnerable times
• Work within a safe and supportive environment that puts patient care first and values the nursing profession
• Collaborate as part of a large, nationwide network of peer nurses and nursing leaders
• Participate in continuing education opportunities and skills diversification
• Advance through Charge, Supervisor, and Nurse Manager-in-training programs and nursing executive track

Schedule

• Full-time or Part-time
• 2-3, 8-hour shifts on weekdays and/or 12-hour shifts every other Sat/Sun
• MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8-business day Orientation from 8a-4p without interruptions
• New hires are required to attend 7-days of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday + following Mon-Wed

Qualifications

• AL RN License (or temporary-eligible to obtain)
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current status as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama
• Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug screen

Skills & experience

• New grads encouraged to apply - excellent mentorship and orientation available
• One (1) year of experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
• LPN must have credentials to direct physical management of the patient and have current CPR certification
