Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
Affords leadership responsibility for coordinating patient care activities on the unit while adhering to TJC, federal, and state regulations. Provides direct patient care within the scope of the RN license. Assumes the Charge Nurse role as needed, overseeing ancillary staff during their shift. Oversees nursing staff in the absence of the Director of Nursing and communicates relevant nursing care issues to the DON. Engages in performance improvement through assigned chart monitoring. Coordinates nursing care to patients within scope of practice and complies with policies, procedures, and standards. Communicates with the medical staff on identified patient issues. Conducts patient care assessments promptly and accurately. Addresses patient care needs promptly. Documents findings accurately and timely in the medical record. Completes all admission paperwork. Ensures thorough and signed/dated admission and daily documentation according to protocol. Adheres to HR policies regarding code of conduct and attendance. Follows infection control and employee health guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety. Functions as a treatment team member and communicates patient goals, interventions, and assessments. Participates in the leadership team within the facility.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing minimum
- RN License through the state board of nursing
- One-year minimum experience in Mental Health
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Experience
- Experience in adult dual diagnosis patients
- Leadership experience
