Registered Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants.
• Administers medications and completes required documentation.
• Fosters a warm and collaborative environment.
• Carefully coordinates with physicians and ensures safety protocols are followed.
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Performs professional nursing services such as catheterization, wound care, and IV care.
• Assists in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement.
• Communicates with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change.
• Approaches and cares for residents with dementia.
• Takes on other duties and assignments within the scope of knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current unencumbered state license.
• Knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Willingness to take additional training or education, which may be required by specific states.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Able to be flexible and adaptable while handling multiple priorities.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Physical Demands

• Sit, stand, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the workday.
• Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Cope with the mental & emotional stress of the position.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
• Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
