Registered Nurse RN Ambulatory Wound Care Part Time - Chesterfield

Part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) based at the Clinton Township Medical Building (15520 19 Mile Rd) with some travel to the Chesterfield Township Medical Building (30795 23 Mile Rd, Chesterfield Twp).

Responsibilities

• Manage in-basket and phone triage
• Perform wound care dressing changes, patient assessments, wound measurements, and vitals
• Document patient care and progress
• Collaborate with providers and set up home care services
• Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and patient/family teaching
• Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team
• Identify solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure implementation
• Additional PICC responsibilities (see attached job description)

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in an ambulatory/clinic or inpatient hospital setting (e.g., Med Surg, ER, or ICU)
• Wound care experience required
• BSN preferred; graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
• Health care provider certification (BCLS)
• RN Lactation Consultant: IBCLC certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire and maintained
• RN Wound Care: Completion of an accredited wound care program (before certification requirements)
• WOCNCB®/NCCA/CNA certification within 18 months of hire; certification must be maintained and current
• One to two (1-2) years as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist preferred
