About the Role
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for a given population based upon age-specific and cultural needs in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach embracing quality and safety.
- Assures quality of care by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital philosophies and standards of care set by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and other governing agency regulations.
- Coordinates the delivery of patient care for the Rehab Unit, facilitates problem-solving with staff members, and communicates necessary issues to nursing administration and the Program Manager.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
