Location: Putnam, CT

About the role

As the Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for diagnosing responses to actual or potential health problems and for providing basic emergent, supportive, and restorative care through the use of our nursing process. You will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in your assigned responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically assesses the patient's physical, psycho-social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and discharge needs according to age and developmental level.
  • Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills, including completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Demonstrates accurate technical skill and operational knowledge of patient care equipment and procedures.
  • Evaluates the plan of care and reformulates goals as necessary.
  • Develops and implements a plan of care for each patient.
  • Recognizes unsafe and life-threatening situations and intervenes appropriately.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut.
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire.
  • Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire.

Schedule

  • Hours: 24 hours per week
  • Shift: Evenings, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
  • Weekends: Every other
