Registered Nurse Reviewer

Dane Street is seeking Registered Nurses to perform reviews and clinical summaries for disability claims. This is an ongoing project-based role with an expected report turnaround time of 2 days.

About the Role

Initial training will be provided, including a walkthrough of the Dane Street portal to ensure comfort with the technology and required report formatting. Training materials, such as sample reports and client-specific documents, will be shared. After training, you will have a dedicated Dane Street contact for support.

Responsibilities

• Create a clinical summary of relevant medical documentation for the period under review, including:
  • A summary of each document (author, date, title, or type of document)
  • The claimant's impairing diagnosis
  • Comorbid conditions impacting function or recovery
  • Relevant diagnostic testing, lab work, exam findings, or other clinical information related to the impairing condition
• Provide a conclusion to the assessment, which may include:
  • Restrictions and limitations specific to the condition causing work absence
  • A duration for restrictions and limitations, clearly supported by medical documentation
  • A clinically based rationale supporting your conclusions
  • Answers to all referral questions posed by the client
• Conduct calls to treating providers, if required by the client.
• Ensure documentation is:
  • Written in a professional and concise manner
  • Free of clinical/claim acronyms (use appropriate titles like MD, Dr, APRN)
  • Free of grammar and spelling issues
  • Explained in layman’s terms for non-medical professionals
  • Avoids unapproved abbreviations/acronyms

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Prior work experience in commercial disability insurance (e.g., disability insurance carrier or TPA such as UNUM, Sedgwick, Mutual of Omaha)
• A diverse clinical background
