Registered Nurse - Recovery Care Center (RCC)
About the role
Crouse Health's 36-bed Recovery Care Center (RCC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients who require less than a 24-hour hospital stay. The RCC caters to a diverse population aged 14 to 65+. The position involves providing care, conducting assessments, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, and problem-solving, while also educating patients and families about their health.
Responsibilities
- Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as per the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, focusing on fostering a culture of safe care.
- Assesses, plans, diagnoses, evaluates, and implements the plan of care for patients.
- Educates patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation, and maintain wellness.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the patient's response to treatment and the plan of care.
- Engages in evidence-based practice to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrates critical thinking in clinical problem-solving situations.
Requirements
- A current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- A graduate from an accredited nursing degree program is required.
- A bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred for RNs licensed since 2017, but completion of a Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree within 8 years of obtaining the license is required.
- If hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within 90 days of graduation, and the nurse must pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of starting employment to obtain professional nursing licensure with New York State.
- Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Pay
$39.78 - $51.50/hour.
Schedule
Per diem – scheduled as needed: 5:30am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 10:30pm-7:00am (including weekends and holidays).
