About the Role

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN), a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN uses the nursing process through technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination with other health team members.

Available positions: 1 part-time in Saratoga Springs and 1 full-time at Park City Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Assess
    • Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills.
    • Seek and evaluate information from interdisciplinary team members, patients, family, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, and support staff.
  • Plan
    • Use assessment information and critical thinking to collaboratively develop an individualized plan of care.
    • Actively involve patients, family, team, and physicians in developing the plan, including needed education.
    • Plan and prepare patients for further support needs after the current episode of care (e.g., teaching, referrals, follow-up).
  • Implement
    • Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
    • Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines, and professional licensure provisions.
    • Set priorities and coordinate patient care delivery by managing time, supplies, and resources effectively.
  • Evaluate
    • Evaluate patient response to interventions through goal achievement, clinical outcomes, and patient/family satisfaction.
    • Revise the plan of care as needed and reassess changes appropriately.
  • Professionalism
    • Promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others.
    • Integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, including compliance with regulatory standards, scope of licensure, and accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Unit-specific certification as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within five years of their start date.
  • RNs with more than 12 months of experience must obtain a BSN within three years of hire or promotion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree verification required).

Physical Demands

  • Ongoing need to read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment.
  • Frequent verbal communication with care providers, patients, and visitors, including understanding spoken information, alarms, and needs, especially during emergencies.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation and medication preparation.
  • Lifting and full range of movement to transfer patients, including bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights (up to heavy items).
  • Walking and assisting with transporting/ambulating patients, pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment (including heavy items), and navigating crowded/busy rooms.
  • May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $41.20 - $62.17, with the actual rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 40 (full-time at Park City Hospital).
