Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Maintains monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary staff, may precept student nurses and new hires.
- Employs critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Works in a fast-paced environment, and takes appropriate action.

- Completes annual education, training, in-service, and licensure/certification requirements; attends departmental and organizational staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated timeframes.
- Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
- Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.
- Participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete employee health meeting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Unencumbered RN License – Colorado or Compact State required.
- Current Certification BLS- required.
- ACLS – required within 1 year.
- PALS or ENPC – required within 1 year.
- Med/Surg experience preferred.
