Registered Nurse - Psych Acute

Department: Psych Adult | Full-Time, Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Mercy Medical Center, Aurora, IL

Responsibilities

• Treat patients, educate them about mental and medical conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
• Run therapeutic groups and perform psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint of patients.
• Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
• Help perform diagnostic tests, analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
• Teach patients and their families how to manage illness or injury, including diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy.
• Perform other related duties.

Requirements

• Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $35.35 to $53.08 per hour, including estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
