Registered Nurse - Progressive Care

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care during hospital stays by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. Responsibilities include performing thorough assessments, establishing and adjusting care plans, administering medications, coordinating with healthcare team members, and educating patients and families on discharge and care. The role involves recognizing and responding to changes in patient conditions, managing specialized care such as restraints and pain, and ensuring safety and infection control protocols are followed. The nurse demonstrates accountability by adhering to standards, maintaining current licensure and certifications, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Excellent communication, teamwork, professionalism, and respect for patients, families, and colleagues are essential. Additional duties include documenting care accurately, supporting performance improvement activities, and providing age-appropriate, cost-effective services. The role requires a valid RN license, BLS certification, and the ability to adapt to changing work demands in a safe, respectful environment focused on delivering high-quality care.
