Registered Nurse PreOp/PACU

Monday-Friday only, no nights, weekends, calls or holidays.

About the Role

The Registered PreOp/PACU Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques. Responsibilities include total comprehensive patient care for those emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Evaluate patient conditions continuously to ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Perform patient and family assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PreOp/PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
