Responsibilities
- Affirms nursing care in accordance with Federal, State, and accreditation standards and ASC policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and is knowledgeable of patient rights.
- Supervises other personnel in the room and directs or assists as necessary.
- Immediately reports and documents unusual occurrences to charge personnel.
- Coordinates, communicates, and maintains continuity of patient care.
- Assesses, prioritizes, plans, and implements patient care in an effective manner.
- Maintains medical records accurately and legibly.
- Participates in continuing education, staff meetings, and Q.A.P.I. programs.
- Fulfills physician orders and follows management directives.
- Contributes to a healthy work environment.
- Trains new staff when needed.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities.
- Recognizes the significance of each department and interacts appropriately with other departments.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state you will be working in.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- At least one year of previous nursing experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings is preferred: surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Operating Room.

- Maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
- Good communication skills: oral and written.

- Ability to work independently and within a group.
- Attendance: Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences. Observes assigned work schedules and hours.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
