Responsibilities

  • Affirms nursing care in accordance with Federal, State, and accreditation standards and ASC policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and is knowledgeable of patient rights.
  • Supervises other personnel in the room and directs or assists as necessary.
  • Immediately reports and documents unusual occurrences to charge personnel.
  • Coordinates, communicates, and maintains continuity of patient care.
  • Assesses, prioritizes, plans, and implements patient care in an effective manner.
  • Maintains medical records accurately and legibly.
  • Participates in continuing education, staff meetings, and Q.A.P.I. programs.
  • Fulfills physician orders and follows management directives.
  • Contributes to a healthy work environment.
  • Trains new staff when needed.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Recognizes the significance of each department and interacts appropriately with other departments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state you will be working in.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • At least one year of previous nursing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings is preferred: surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Operating Room.

  • Maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff.
  • Good communication skills: oral and written.
  • Has the ability to be organized, manage time effectively, and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and within a group.
  • Attendance: Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences. Observes assigned work schedules and hours.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
