Registered Nurse, Pre-Op / Post-Op (PRN) - Willing to Train!

About the role

The Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Pre-Op and Post-Op departments. Typically working 1-2 days per week (ideally 2 days), the schedule varies weekly. The office operates Monday-Friday from 6:00am-5:00pm, with shifts falling within these hours. No late nights, weekends, or holidays are required.

Responsibilities

• Affirms patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards
• Supervises and directs patient care in the operating room
• Ensures adherence to established protocols and practices
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
• Assesses, prioritizes, plans, and implements patient care
• Maintains accurate and legible medical records
• Participates in ongoing education and training programs
• Follows physician orders and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams
• Works independently and collaboratively with other departments

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Strong IV skills and experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, PACU, OR, ASC, ICU, Medical Surgical, or Telemetry settings

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• One year of previous nursing experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, PACU, OR, ASC, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Operating Room settings

Licenses and Credentials

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
