Position Summary

Affairs the delivery of nursing care to patients in compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. Assumes primary responsibility for the quality of nursing services provided by self or others under his/her supervision. Ensures a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients.

  • Displays critical thinking skills based on nursing theory.
  • Maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff members.
  • Works collaboratively within a team, balancing individual and group responsibilities.
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.

Job Knowledge/Responsibilities

  • Performs duties ethically and legally within the scope of the RN license.
  • Maintains accurate and legible medical records.
  • Adheres to work schedule, manages time effectively, and operates within a cost-effective framework.
  • Responds to emergent situations.
  • Participates in continuing education and in-service training.
  • Assists in training new staff when necessary.
  • Arrives on time and minimizes absences.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN License, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Previous nursing experience in an ASC, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, or Telemetry floor.
  • Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Languages/Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment.

Physical Demands

  • Walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally push up to an excess of 200 pounds.
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.

Working Conditions

  • Works in well-lit and ventilated surroundings, including pre-operative/PACU areas, nurse's stations, procedure rooms, lounges, etc.
  • May occasionally be exposed to outside environments.
