Responsibilities

  • Ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Provides direct and indirect provision of safe, professional nursing care of the patients in the operating room.
  • Ensures the Operating Rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
  • Supports and maintains a safe patient care environment.
  • Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards.
  • Makes sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
  • Assumes responsibility for competency of practice and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education.
  • Utilizes resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner.
  • Adheres to work schedule and manages time appropriately.
  • Assists with identifying and developing the performance improvement focus and criteria.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Current surgical experience (within past 3 years).

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care.
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.

Skills

  • Primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.
  • Competency in assessing, prioritizing, planning, and implementing direct patient care.
