Responsibilities
- Ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice.
- Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Provides direct and indirect provision of safe, professional nursing care of the patients in the operating room.
- Ensures the Operating Rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Supports and maintains a safe patient care environment.
- Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards.
- Makes sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
- Assumes responsibility for competency of practice and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education.
- Utilizes resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner.
- Adheres to work schedule and manages time appropriately.
- Assists with identifying and developing the performance improvement focus and criteria.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current surgical experience (within past 3 years).
Qualifications
- Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
Skills
- Primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care.
- Competency in assessing, prioritizing, planning, and implementing direct patient care.
