Location: Backus Hospital (Norwich, CT)

Shift: Per diem; must be available for any shift and one holiday annually.

Backus Hospital, the primary healthcare provider for Eastern Connecticut for over 118 years, is home to the region’s only trauma center and LIFE STAR helicopter services. This per diem position offers flexibility to cover any shift, any day of the week.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship.
  • Assess and identify patient problems and needs.
  • Establish, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for patients.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN or MSN preferred).
  • Current Connecticut RN license.
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
