Registered Nurse - Per-Diem

About the Role

Provide compassionate, non-judgmental care to adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors as a Registered Nurse in the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical forensic exams, including head-to-toe assessments and detailed anogenital examinations.
• Perform forensic specimen collection and photographic documentation.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, advocates, and legal professionals.
• Attend peer reviews and courtroom proceedings.
• Ensure compliance with forensic nursing standards and protocols.
• Participate in training and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Requirements

• Nursing degree (BSN preferred).
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Certified in SANE through the Illinois Attorney General.
• Forensic nursing experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of forensic collection procedures.
• Understanding of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
• Trauma-informed care expertise.
• Computer literacy (Epic training provided).
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
