Registered Nurse - Per-Diem

Role: Registered Nurse in the SANE Program, providing specialized care for adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors. Responsibilities Perform medical forensic exams, head-to-toe nursing assessments, and detailed anogenital examinations.Collect forensic specimens with accurate documentation and photographic evidence.Deliver compassionate, non-judgmental care in emergency and inpatient settings.Collaborate with physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement, and legal professionals.Attend peer review meetings, ensure compliance with standards, and participate in courtroom proceedings. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.Current Illinois RN licensure.Certified in AA SANE training through the Illinois Attorney General’s Office or approved certification.Preferably experienced in forensic nursing.Computer literacy, particularly with Epic system, or willingness to train. Key Duties Perform forensic collection procedures, manage STIs, medications, and address vicarious trauma.Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and attend related meetings and court proceedings.Maintain compliance with professional standards and documentation practices.
