About the Role
Provides neonatal, pediatric, and maternal patient transportation as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe ground and air transfers of critically ill or injured patients.
Responsibilities
- Operates critical care equipment during transport.
- Performs Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) procedures.
- Assesses patient needs and develops care plans.
- Manages equipment inventory and maintains documentation.
- Participates in education and process improvement initiatives.
- Acts as a preceptor for new team members.
- Stays current with advancements in transport medicine.
- Maintains equipment and ensures readiness for emergency situations.
- Participates in educational activities and contributes to quality improvement projects to enhance patient care during transport.
Requirements
- Nursing degree (RN).
- At least three years of RN experience in NICU, PICU, or Emergency care.
- Valid RN licensure in Missouri or a compact state.
- Certifications: BLS, ALS, NRP, PALS, and trauma care courses.
