About the role
The Ambulatory and Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of Advocate Health Nursing Professional Governance community. They provide high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care delivery in an ambulatory care setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient care is coordinated and effective.
- Advocate for patient needs and promote optimal health outcomes.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing; preferred.

Skilled and compassionate in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. Uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication. Leads efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Pay
$35.50 - $53.25 per hour
Schedule
Monday-Tuesday 0700-1730 at Lakeland Pulmonology Clinic. Hours and days subject to change.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Able to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Able to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
