Registered Nurse - PACU
Medical City Fort Worth offers a supportive environment with strong staffing, advanced technology, and resources to help you deliver safe, high-quality care. As a PACU Registered Nurse, you’ll play a critical role in post-operative patient recovery, collaborating with surgical and anesthesia teams.
About the Role
In this position, you will provide immediate post-operative care, including airway management, neurological and cardiac monitoring, wound care, and response to complications. On-call availability during select non-business hours is required and will be discussed during the interview.
- Self/Preferential Scheduling posted four weeks in advance

- Staffing support from Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Techs, Charge Nurses, and an internal RN float pool
- Rounding with unit leaders to ensure your input on patient care is heard
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, including providers and therapy staff
- Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and technical skills to independently deliver safe nursing care
- Assess and monitor patient condition throughout your shift, documenting changes and care provided
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing with an Associate of Science in Nursing
- Current Texas or Multi-state RN license
- Minimum of one-year experience in an acute care hospital within the last three years (preferred)
- Experience in the assigned department (preferred)
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
