About the role
The WmJennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center is actively recruiting for a Mental Health Registered Nurse Case Manager with 3 years' experience with seriously mentally ill adult population for Acute Service.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others
- Interacts with Veterans, family members, and an interdisciplinary team of professionals
- Plans, administers, and directs nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with intensive mental health needs
- Pose and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds
- Ensures the highest possible quality of care is achieved and provides a safe therapeutic environment
- Coordinates care through collaborative strategies in mental health clinics within the VA Medical Center
- Administratively responsible to the MHOP/CBOC Nurse Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2-3 years of mental health experience/adult population with mental health disorders
- Case management experience
- Nationally certified in mental health nursing
Qualifications
- Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency, Graduate of a school of professional nursing, Current - full - active - and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
- Exception: Candidates who otherwise meet the basic education requirements but do not possess the required licensure may be appointed at the entry step of the grade and level applicable to the completed nursing education as a GNT on a 120-day temporary appointment while actively pursuing licensure (may be extended up to two years on a case-by-case-basis.)
