Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Practice Manager, Clinical Service Specialist, Operation Managers, and Physician, this role involves assisting with patient assessment and care, maintaining appropriate documentation, managing the clinical area, and performing clinical procedures. The position aims to provide a high-quality patient and family experience, demonstrating patient-centered care.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Completes nursing assessments, including vital signs and additional measurements, documents findings in the medical record, and alerts the physician to significant abnormalities.
- Reviews and documents patient medications at each visit.
- Prepares patients for exams and procedures, ensuring they are physically and psychologically prepared.
- Provides patient education based on their needs.
- Orders and stocks necessary clinical supplies, controls inventory use and loss, and ensures equipment is cleaned and maintained.
- Performs laboratory tests as requested by the physician and logs results.
- Greets patients, takes them to the exam area, completes the history and physical portion of the exam, and documents findings in the chart.
- Aids the physician during procedures, prepares and cleans the patient area, sets up equipment, and documents medication administration.
- Assists with patient discharge, trims patients by phone, telephones prescriptions to pharmacies, and ensures patient consent forms are completed.
- Maintains supplies and stock medications, logs samples, and ensures patient privacy.
- Adheres to policies and procedures, maintains a clean and safe environment, and assists in identifying and resolving clinical issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current Michigan RN License.
- Experience: Two (2) years of recent RN experience in the specialty area of the physician practice is desired.
Essential Physical Abilities/Motor Skills
- Frequently required to stand, kneel, and crouch.
- On a daily basis, may be required to move about, sit, climb stairs, and bend.
- Is frequently required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- May be required to push/pull/carry items between 20-100 lbs.
- Corrective devices may be used to meet physical requirements.
- Sedentary Work: Frequent standing, kneeling, and crouching.
- On a daily basis, may be required to move about, sit, climb stairs, and bend.
- Is frequently required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- May be required to push/pull/carry items between 20-100 lbs.
- Corrective devices may be used to meet physical requirements.
Essential Technical Abilities
- Proficiency using modern office, computer, and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.

- Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents including, but not limited to policies, operating instructions, white papers, regulations, rules, and laws.

- Able to see for the purpose of reading information received in formats including but not limited to paper, computer, reports, bulletins, updates, manuals.
- Able to hear for work-related purposes.
