Registered Nurse – Outpatient – Ambulatory Afterhours Triage and Medication Refill

About the role

Indiana’s most comprehensive healthcare system, IU Health, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join their growing System Nursing Call Center (SNCC) team. Nurses will provide after-hours telephone triage and clinical support to patients across the state of Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours telephone triage and clinical support to patients across the state of Indiana.
• Ambulate urgent patient concerns when ambulatory clinics are closed.
• Assess patient needs, determine the appropriate level of care, provide patient education, and serve as a key liaison between patients and providers.
• Manage a diverse population of patients.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years of inpatient or outpatient RN triage experience.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification through the AHA annually.
• Ability to assess patients without face-to-face interaction.

Qualifications

• An Associates of Nursing (ASN) degree; Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.

Skills

• Experience with evidence-based protocols.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Benefits

• $30,000 sign-on bonus for both part-time and full-time roles.
• Variety of scheduling options including 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts, as well as a Special Weekend Option.
• Remote work option with evening and overnight shifts during the week, and weekend day and overnight shift options.
