Registered Nurse - Orthopedic OR circulator

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in ambulatory settings. Patient care may be a direct activity of the RN, or it may be to coordinate and supervise patient care provided by assistive personnel. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Teamwork and priority setting is a must.
  • One year of operating room experience and orthopedic experience preferred.
  • Primarily day shift with varying start times (0615-0900).
  • Possibility to work one Saturday shift during fourth quarter based on surgical volumes.

Requirements

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: BSN / Baccalaureate degree in nursing
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.

Skills

This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws).

Schedule

This 0.7 FTE position is scheduled Monday through Friday with eight-hour shifts and variable start times between 6:15 AM and 9:00 AM. Occasional Saturday coverage may be required to support periods of increased patient volume.
