Registered Nurse- OR/Surgery

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our team. This role is a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
• Achieves optimal outcomes through data, information, and knowledge utilization.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal).
• Serves as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and departmental strategic goals and objectives.
• Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

Requirements

• Current RN License in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Education Required: Registered Nurse Diploma.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Experience working in a clinical specialty area preferred.
